Selling off my gaming collection for charity. [Jan. 9th, 2011|09:05 pm]

Hey gang,
I am clearing out my closet and selling off a lot of my gaming and book collection with the majority of the money going to charity.  The charities I am supporting are the American Cancer Society, Canine Assistance (a group that trains dogs for disabled people) and a local animal shelter which rescues animals from other shelters before they are put down.

Please check out my auctions and bid if you see something you like.  They are all starting at a penny and I have some rare out of print items up for auction. Tell a friend

I haven't heard anything back about them and the auction ends soon. If it is inappropriate please remove with my deepest apologies.

I am auctioning off my gaming collection with the profits going to various different charity organizations. It's a great way to get some gifts for Christmas on the cheap and for a good cause.

Thanks in advance.

Okay. I'm running an apocalyptic horror campaign using the d20 Modern rules with the Sanity rules stolen from d20 Call of Cthulhu.

Game-Specific Info...Collapse )

My question is, does anyone have any suggestions on how to maintain a horror atmosphere, both in-game and out? Any other suggestions or questions relating to mechanics, monsters, or just anything?

Has anyone heard of Shuffler 2.2? It's a modern/sci-fi tile maker at rpgnow.com. I have tried to get it to run but it hasn't worked and I was wondering if anyone was running this program.

d20 Modern Podcasts? [Jun. 23rd, 2009|11:54 am]

I've been listening to a newish d20 Modern based podcast called Department 7 that's part of the d20 Radio network.

It isn't thrilling me after the first two episodes. I don't know if I'm gonna keep listening until it finds its feet.

Does anyone know any other d20 Modern based podcasts?

Stan! (of Game Mechanics and d20 Future fame) has produced a Kaiju supplement for d20 Modern.

It can be purchased a DrivethruRPG and RPG.now. And, hey, it's only $3.

It's brief (12 pages) and a little silly, but fun.

More Thoughts On D20 Modern Supers [Nov. 2nd, 2007|11:35 am]

Okay. So, previously I made mention of two game mechanics that I feel a d20 Spectaculars! game will have to have: Spectacular classes and Spectacle Points. I'm not entirely finished with the design of them, but here's what I have so far. Maybe writing it all out will help me cement a few ideas, and spark others.

How Would YOU Do It? [Oct. 31st, 2007|04:52 pm]

I have more than a slight interest in a D20 Modern super powered campaign, and since D20 Spectaculars doesn't seem to ever be coming out (at least until D&D 4th edition's hooplaraw is over), I've been sort of tinkering with my own system.

I hit on the "superpowers as magic" easily enough, but I think the best way would be some sort of modification to D&D's Domain powers and Domain spell list in some way. But since multiclassing is pretty much a given in D20 Modern, and feats still pretty dear, I was wondering how exactly to keep the power level tied to the character level. Any suggestions?

Jazzed Up D20 Modern Classes [Oct. 26th, 2007|12:05 am]
The D20Modern Livejournal Community

k1d_v1d
Hey everyone. I've been working on some side projects for D20 modern in my own time (including the D20 Pirates that I've posted about on here before). My brothers friends and I played D20 Pirates for a few months, but I noticed some flaws in trying to fit the classes to the game itself.

I resolved to adapt the classes to the game, but never really got around to it. I have resolved that now, as I'm trying to put together a D20 Modern Mob game, straight outta the Untouchables and 1930s Chicago. I'm still doing research and putting the game together, but I thought I would let anyone and everyone who wanted a crack at it a chance to look over the adaption I've made to the classes and offer criticism. Well, criticism and helpful insight.

The most major changes I've made are to add more talents- allowing characters to become more specialized in their individual classes, or to take one or two talents from each to become a "jack of all trades."

I also change the hit dice of the classes, so that strong heroes have a d10, tough heroes a d12, the fast and dedicated heroes a d8, and the smart and charismatic characters a lowly d6. Skills are adapted to, so the smart hero gets more skill points.

Anyway, tell me what you think.
